Hello Reader,
You are busy all day, you are producing results, but you don’t know what you enjoy anymore? What’s wrong?
I recently spoke with a woman and this is what she shared:
“I am busy all day doing stuff. I often have back-to-back meetings. I barely have time to get my own work done. And on top of that, I don’t even know anymore what I enjoy or what I am good at. Come the evening, I flop down onto the sofa and that’s it.”
If this sounds familiar — or you know someone who this might help — here is what you can start with.
Look at your energy calendar.
For one week, at the end of every workday, look at your calendar and colour-code each activity and type of work you have done.
Green: It gives you energy.
Yellow: You feel neutral.
Red: It drains your energy.
Trust your gut instinct and colour-code your week.
Then, at the end of the week, reflect on what the energy-creating, energy-draining and neutral activities have in common.
Based on this, you can create your own action plan.
- What are activities that you choose to prioritise or amplify? Ideally these are your green activities.
- What are activities that you can delete, delegate or adjust? These should be your yellow and red activities.
- What are ways you can think of to make a red activity a yellow one?
Using this tool, you can make small adjustments over time — all with the aim to improve your energy-creating to energy-draining ratio.
You can do it! 🙋♀️💪
