Hello Reader,
You’ve outgrown your current role. But you don’t want to manage a team. You’d probably be great at it. But the admin, the people management, the endless meetings about meetings, that’s not what excites you.
What you actually want is to grow horizontally.
More responsibilities in areas that light you up.
New projects.
Different challenges.
The kind of work that makes you want to jump in on a Monday morning.
And for that, you need to have an honest and courageous conversation with your boss.

Here’s what I’ve seen:
If you trust your manager and have a good relationship, have that conversation. Share what excites you. Share what you want more of.
Sometimes, choosing to stay and explore options internally takes more courage than looking outside.
And it can open doors you didn’t even know existed.
And if the relationship isn’t there? Or if the options inside feel limited?
Then look outside. Find opportunities that will stretch you in a way that makes you think: I can’t wait to get started.
Ask yourself:
• What should stay the same in my work?
• And what are the responsibilities and projects I want to add to my daily life?
Growth doesn’t always mean going up. Sometimes, going wider is exactly where the magic happens.
What do you think?
