Hello Reader,
You already know that you want to set up your own business and that you ideally want to do this while still being employed?
Excellent! You are looking for a “side hustle”.
Often people don’t quite know how to tackle this and how to take the first step. They often dream about setting up their own business, but then decide that it is not the right time yet.
But when is the right time?
By starting your business as a side-hustle you will gain relevant experience. It also allows you to test if it is right for you, without taking the leap (yet).
Together, we will define what kind of business you really want to build. We will check that this is aligned with your purpose and your strengths.
We will then identify the skills and experience you need to be successful.
We will work out how much time and money it will cost you and how to identify more economical options to get you started.
Next, we will identify who else needs to know. For example, getting your partner and your family on board so that they can support you, is very important.
We will set up a strategy so that you can build your network by already volunteering, freelancing or working in the industry you want to enter to get you your contacts.
You are worried that it will all get a bit too much? That does not surprise me. Do it at your own speed and define for yourself what works for you.
It is important that you do take the first step though.
You can do it! 🙋♀️💪

Here is my weekly career, life and productivity hack for you, Reader:
This one is for all the perfectionists out there! I fully subscribe to the saying “Done is better than perfect.”
I love the feeling of tackling stuff, getting it done and then moving onto the next thing that will help me get further.
Do you know about the 80/20 rule?
It states that about 80% of your outcome come from 20% of your input.
It also means that to get to 100% you need to add the remaining 20%, but this will cost you an additional 80% of your effort!
So, if you want to get stuff done, I like to think about what the first small step is that I need to do to get started and to roughly sketch out what I am going to do next.
I will then set myself a personal deadline, because “surprise…” the work always tends to take me roughly as much time as I give myself in my deadline.
I hope this will help you next time, when you are working on something bigger. Allow yourself to accept that your 80% is already at a very high level.
