Hello Reader,
Corporate professionals think 10 times before rejecting a position, but my client did it without any hesitation.
Because she already built her network to support that transition and help throughout the process.
“Candice” used to define her life and her career based on her work and her studies.
When we started working together:
👉 She was prepared to accept any job offer that was going up the ladder, based on where she was there and then.
But her excitement was missing and her heart wasn’t really in it.
The positions above her simply did not excite her and she was questioning whether she was losing her ambition and her drive.
Spoiler Alert:
👉 She was not losing her ambition.
👉 She only needed a different goal to aim for.
So what did we do?
1) Clarified what excites her
2) The skills that she brings to the table.
3) Not just the hard skills, but also the soft skills
4) Clarified her motivation & her mission statement
And what we found was that she was actually excited by serving a different kind of people and industry through her work.
The skills were all there and it was a matter of changing direction and adjusting her industry focus to feel that excitement again.
And we did not stop there.
1. She next expanded her network strategically and with intention. Both internally & externally.
2. Completed short online trainings to have the language to communicate with the new target industry.
3. Reached out to the people in the industry that she wanted to join.
4. Arranged multiple job-shadowing opportunities and a short-term assignment.
And she dared to have these important conversations.
And she is still VERY ambitious. And she is making it happen.
You can do it – have a good Friday! 🙋♀️💪
