Hello Reader,
This month, I had a dentist appointment, and while explaining to the dental assistant that I had a check-up first, but that my husband was up next—and that he’d be bringing our baby—she was surprised. 🦷👶
The first surprise was that my husband was bringing the baby. The second came when I mentioned that I had returned to work and my husband was currently on parental leave. When she asked, “And he manages to take care of the baby all day on his own?” I simply replied, “Well, if I managed for the last 5 months, he can definitely handle the next 5 months too.” 💪
She laughed and said she appreciated having something new to think about for the day. 💡
For me, it’s completely normal for my husband and me to support each other so that we can both pursue our careers and care for our family. Of course, every family has their own way of doing things, and that’s perfectly fine. I’m grateful that in our partnership, we can and do prioritize and share equal time with our children.
💬 What models or setups have you found that work well for your family?
You can do it! 🙋♀️💪
