The first bold message I sent on LinkedIn scared me — but it changed everything.
With my background in BD I trained myself to reach out to people I didn’t know and people who didn’t know me either.
The first couple of messages were tough. Then it became routine.
𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦.
You can do the same. Just get past the first 20 messages or so and you will see.
𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻.
You want a career in automation, AI in pharma, or a leadership role in innovation? Fantastic.
But let me be clear: Wishing and hoping won’t get you there.
𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻.
The first move? 👉 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 — 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.
Here’s how winners do it (no excuses):
👉 Search LinkedIn like your career depends on it (because it does)
👉 Send a bold and respectful message to people in roles you admire
👉 Invite them for a short, focused coffee chat — and offer value in return (you have expert knowledge too!)
👉 Ask smart questions. Listen more than you talk.
👉 Apply what you learn. Today. Not “someday.”
🚫 Stop overthinking your next step.
🚫 Stop waiting for “perfect timing.”
🚫 Stop assuming others have it all figured out — they asked for help too.
